- THANKS for taking the time to look at my artwork and to look into my soul...
- my paintings come from the back of my mind and are very personal yet at the same time they are somehow universal in meaning...
- art is one thing among others (music is another) that makes me feel connected to everyone else...
- the act of creation, whether it be my own or someone else's, really turns me on...
- and i have noticed that creation is a recurring theme in my work as well as mandalas ( a symbol of self )...
- all of my paintings were originally sketches....
- my sketches, of which i have many, occur when i clear my mind of conscious thoughts and let my mind "wander"...
- i seem to be attracted to the primary and secondary colors although my blue is usually a sky blue and green is generally omitted (i'm sure there is some sort of psychological symbolism in that)...
- i usually try not to "see" what i'm drawing until it feels like i'm done...
- i have found that the most difficult times in my life have been my most creative and productive artistically...
- i also go through periods of depression and artist block only to discover that when i take a break from my work and then come back to it everything seems fresh and new and exciting...
